Details of our launch event on 6th May 2015

We are opening our club doors for our first event on the 6th May. For the uninitiated, the Impact Investor Club has been established to foster a greater understanding of impact investing – that is investing for a positive environmental or social outcome as well as a potential financial return.

Investment managers, retail brokers, existing impact investors and businesses who are already delivering an impact have all signed up as club members so far. The aim of the club is to attract new entrants and foster networking and growth in the impact investment community. While membership is free of charge, applications are  subject to a registration and approvals process, details of which can be found on this site.

The world of investing is changing and more investors are realising we can no longer focus purely on profits. The Club aims to encourage applications from investors, advisers and businesses with a conscience and will meet regularly in atmospheric and sponsored venues, not only in London but also right across the UK.

Paul Robinson, founder & CEO of Alquity will speak at the Club’s launch on 6 May at the Brand Exchange in London.

Paul has spent the past 20 years building financial services businesses and funds globally. After growing his first funds business to $0.5bn he helped found an ethical consumer brand that donated more than $20m over 10 years – giving 2.5m people access to clean drinking water. Paul has spent considerable time in emerging markets living in Asia and Africa for over a decade (including amongst the Masai).

Paul founded Alquity to demonstrate that there is a better model for investment management: delivering attractive returns by investing in companies who respect Environmental, Social and Governance issues – then donating up to 25% of fees to support local microfinance projects.

Spaces are limited so you also might like to sign up for our second meeting of the Impact Investor Club, which will follow the 6th May event, is scheduled to take place on 3rd June and will take the form of a breakfast event. An impact investment fund manager will lead the session, whilst quoted impact companies will showcase their businesses to prospective investors.
