Come and hear from a panel of Investors and CEOs about the role of crowdfunding and angel investment in the impact sector.
Ramona is an angel investor, adviser and start up mentor with Angels Academe. In addition she is CEO of Spring Accelerator. DFID, USAID and Nike Foundation are the funders of SPRING Accelerator and Spring identifies and supports ventures that can bring life-enhancing products and services to benefit adolescent girls in East Africa and South Asia. She has spent the last two decades with corporates such as KPMG, WPP and Nielsen in strategy, marketing or senior client roles and has worked with a number of start-ups and growth stage companies as advisor and investor, and helps multinationals wrestle with their own innovation, talent, scale and intrapraneurship challenges.
Mike is an avid supporter of crowdfunding industry. One of the first employees of Crowdcube, the world’s first equity crowdfunding platform, he has helped over 100 businesses to raise capital and grow. His particular areas of interest lie in social impact, clean tech and the circular economy. Crowdcube has invested over £30m into the clean tech sector in the last 12 months, on the back of huge appetite from an investor community that is now 300,000 strong.
Joe is MD of a recently funded impact company, Powervault. He has spent 10 years working in the smart grid sector and is passionate about working in start-ups to bring new, smart grid technologies to market. He spent the first half of his career working in the fast growing Internet sector as Director of Hosting Operations at Pipex Plc. In 2007, Joe moved to Open Energi/RLtec when it was a start-up. He helped bring their smart grid dynamic demand product from concept to commercial reality, creating a new market in which Open Energi arrived first. Joe joined Powervault in 2014 as Managing Director. He obtained a BA (Hons) from the University of Oxford in Experimental Psychology and an MBA from INSEAD.
Johannes is an Investment Analyst and Masters in Finance Graduate from Hult International Business School. In late 2015 he co-founded Clustermarket – an online sharing platform for all stakeholders to list, discover and book technology, lab equipment and expertise within their institution or cluster. The company officially launched in February 2017 and is able to increase innovation by supporting collaboration and transparency in life sciences. Johannes is joining the panel to discuss the trials and tribulations of being a start-up and his journey so far via Clustermarket in seeking angel investment and being part of accelerator programmes.

Spearheading the drive towards impact. Following on from the success of the first Family Offices Conference, the Social Stock Exchange will host its second event on the 10th May. Family offices, their advisers and CEOs from impactful businesses will discuss their strategies and ambitions. The event will provide attendees with practical insights on how they can significantly expand their impact ambitions whilst diversifying their portfolio with high growth investments.
